Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or equivalent field required (CA, CPA a plus)
  • Typically requires a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree without experience; or equivalent work experience
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP
  • Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented self-starter with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing

Responsibilities

  • Reconcile cash accounts on a weekly/monthly basis, including generating journal entries and other month-end close duties
  • Prepare all accounting related to the Company’s derivative instruments including mark-to-market journal entries, record settlement execution and perform variance analysis on a monthly basis
  • Perform prepaid capitalization review, record required reclass journal entries
  • Obtain an understanding of the awarded grants/incentives, prepare journal entries and perform balance sheet reconciliations in relation to grant accounting as part of month-end close activities
  • Maintain Sarbanes-Oxley internal control narratives and testing documentation for areas of responsibilities
  • Participate in quarterly review and annual audit
  • Participate in grant/incentive certification activities
  • Develop, implement and/or maintain one or more accounting systems: Journal entries, General Ledger, Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payable, Revenue Reconciliation, etc
  • Review and interpret financial reporting requirements, rules and regulations
  • Balance books and prepare profit and loss, cash flow, income and balance sheet statements
  • Monitor and develop monthly reports of revenues and expenditures for projects
  • Provide record of assets, liabilities and other financial transactions
  • Prepare federal, state and local reports and tax returns as needed
  • Assist in the setup of processes and procedures that properly capture, track and report revenue, including deferred revenue, in accordance with the company revenue recognition policy
  • Generate revenue reports for internal and/or external use
  • Interpret reports and records for managers/stakeholders
  • Review, track and maintain billing information in the financial systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with US GAAP and other accounting regulations
  • Apply company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues, determine course of action based on guidelines, and modify processes as required
  • Build productive working relationships internally and externally, provide standard professional guidance, and collaborate to resolve mutual problems
  • Work autonomously with little instruction on assignments of moderate scope
