  • Skills in root cause analysis and debugging on embedded targets (e.g., JTAG/SWD, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers)
  • Ability to monitor and analyze firmware performance metrics (CPU usage, memory footprint, power consumption, boot time, latency)

Responsibilities

  • Lead a small team of engineers
  • Develop comprehensive test plans, strategies, and methodologies for embedded firmware, covering functional, non-functional, reliability, stress, and security aspects
  • Design, document, and execute detailed test cases for firmware components, drivers, communication protocols, and system-level interactions with hardware
  • Lead and perform hardware-firmware integration testing to ensure seamless interactions (e.g., sensors, actuators, external memory, peripherals like SPI, I2C, UART)
  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and test harnesses using scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for regression testing and efficiency
  • Identify, document, track, and verify resolution of software defects using bug tracking systems, providing clear bug reports
  • Collaborate with firmware developers on root cause analysis of defects, using debugging tools like JTAG/SWD, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers
  • Monitor and analyze firmware performance metrics (CPU usage, memory footprint, power consumption, boot time, latency)
