Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration, logistics, or a related field (preferred) or equivalent experience
3+ years of experience in materials management, procurement, or supply chain roles, preferably in poultry or food production
Strong knowledge of inventory management systems and supply chain principles
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and ERP/MRP systems
Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to work effectively with suppliers, production teams, and warehouse staff
Ability to work in a production or warehouse environment with varying temperatures
Occasional lifting of materials up to 50 lbs
Standing, walking, and performing inventory tasks for extended periods

Responsibilities

Source and procure materials, supplies, and equipment required for poultry production and processing
Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective purchasing
Negotiate pricing, contracts, and delivery schedules to meet operational needs
Monitor inventory levels and adjust orders to prevent shortages or overstocking
Implement and maintain inventory tracking systems to ensure accurate records
Conduct regular cycle counts and physical audits of stock levels
Coordinate the distribution of materials and supplies to various departments, ensuring production and processing areas have what they need
Work with warehouse and logistics teams to optimize storage and material flow
Troubleshoot and resolve supply chain issues that may impact production schedules
Ensure all materials meet quality standards and regulatory requirements for poultry production
Adhere to company policies regarding safety, food safety, and material handling
Maintain accurate documentation for audits and regulatory compliance
Identify opportunities to streamline procurement and inventory processes for efficiency and cost savings
Analyze material usage data to optimize ordering and reduce waste
Work with cross-functional teams to improve supply chain management strategies
Maintain accurate records of purchases, inventory levels, and supplier agreements
Generate reports on material usage, costs, and inventory trends
Assist in budgeting and forecasting material needs based on production planning
