Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration, logistics, or a related field (preferred) or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of experience in materials management, procurement, or supply chain roles, preferably in poultry or food production
  • Strong knowledge of inventory management systems and supply chain principles
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and ERP/MRP systems
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with suppliers, production teams, and warehouse staff
  • Ability to work in a production or warehouse environment with varying temperatures
  • Occasional lifting of materials up to 50 lbs
  • Standing, walking, and performing inventory tasks for extended periods

Responsibilities

  • Source and procure materials, supplies, and equipment required for poultry production and processing
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective purchasing
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, and delivery schedules to meet operational needs
  • Monitor inventory levels and adjust orders to prevent shortages or overstocking
  • Implement and maintain inventory tracking systems to ensure accurate records
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and physical audits of stock levels
  • Coordinate the distribution of materials and supplies to various departments, ensuring production and processing areas have what they need
  • Work with warehouse and logistics teams to optimize storage and material flow
  • Troubleshoot and resolve supply chain issues that may impact production schedules
  • Ensure all materials meet quality standards and regulatory requirements for poultry production
  • Adhere to company policies regarding safety, food safety, and material handling
  • Maintain accurate documentation for audits and regulatory compliance
  • Identify opportunities to streamline procurement and inventory processes for efficiency and cost savings
  • Analyze material usage data to optimize ordering and reduce waste
  • Work with cross-functional teams to improve supply chain management strategies
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, inventory levels, and supplier agreements
  • Generate reports on material usage, costs, and inventory trends
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting material needs based on production planning
