Requirements

Ability to collect requirements from external sources like regulations and customer specifications
Ability to collect requirements from internal sources like Systems engineers, engineering users, product validation labs, and manufacturing
Ability to refine the requirements collected into a level of detail relevant to designers and verifiers
Ability to review requirements developed by other engineers to ensure compliance with standards
Ability to read schematics (strongly desired)
Familiarity with requirement management tools, classic DOORS from Rational in particular (strongly desired)
Familiarity with Jira (strongly desired)
Electrical hardware development (microprocessors, power management) (preferred)
Digital communication buses (CAN, LIN, ARINC 429, Ethernet, RS-485) (preferred)
Processes conforming to standards such as ASPICE, DO-178C, DO-254 (preferred)
Functional safety development satisfying ISO 26262 objectives (preferred)
Cybersecurity development satisfying ISO 21434 objectives (preferred)

Responsibilities

Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to capture technical requirements from regulations, customer specs, and input from engineering teams
Break down high-level requirements into clear, detailed specifications for design and verification teams
Evaluate and provide feedback on requirements created by other engineers to ensure they meet project and industry standards
Convert stakeholder needs into well-structured documentation to guide development
Utilize requirement management platforms (with a preference for Rational DOORS) and Jira for tracking and organization
