This role seeks an exceptional Software Engineering Manager who will lead by example—being an individual contributor, guiding, mentoring, and building alongside the engineering team, while still actively coding 50% of the time. Responsibilities

• Lead and Code: Manage a high-performing remote engineering team while being a personal contributor to the codebase regularly. Lead by example in technical decisions and problem-solving.
• Code Quality Stewardship: Conduct detailed code reviews to maintain best coding practices, ensuring top-notch quality and maintainability across all projects.
• Agile Execution: Implement and refine Agile SDLC processes, enabling smooth project management and timely delivery.
• Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with finance, asset management, and investment professionals to design and build software that aligns with business goals and solves complex challenges.
• Cultivate a Learning Culture: Foster a dynamic environment of continuous learning, encouraging your team to stay ahead of emerging technologies and trends.
• Optimize Performance: Track team performance metrics and develop strategies to enhance productivity, efficiency, and code quality.

Requirements

• Experience:
  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering.
  • At least 5+ years leading engineering teams.
• Technical Skills:
  • Must-have: Strong experience with Ruby on Rails, Python, Kafka, Elasticsearch, PostgreSQL, Redis, and Azure.
  • Highly preferred: Experience in finance, oil & gas, fintech, or investment management.
• Leadership:
  • Hands-On Leadership: You love building as much as you love leading – actively coding and solving problems alongside your team members.
