Requirements

Candidates must have 5+ years of industry experience as a Software Engineer and at least 2 years of experience managing engineering teams, including coaching and development. Proven ability to drive projects from inception to completion and experience designing, building, and operating scalable, public-facing APIs are required. Proficiency in at least two general programming languages such as Python, Go, Scala, Java, or C++, along with excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration, is necessary. Preferred qualifications include experience managing Infrastructure or Platform teams, working in advertising technology, and familiarity with API gateways, authentication/authorization protocols like OAuth, and rate limiting.

Responsibilities

The Software Engineering Manager will set the technical vision and roadmap for the Ads API platform, translating business needs into technical strategy. They will lead, hire, coach, and develop a high-performing software engineering team, fostering a culture of ownership and excellence. This role involves driving architectural decisions for high availability, performance, and scalability of the Ads API, and establishing best practices for API design, versioning, security, and developer experience. The manager will also collaborate closely with product management, partner management, and other engineering teams to ensure the platform meets stakeholder and developer needs.
