  • Eligible for a Level 6 Higher Degree Apprenticeship (implied entry requirements for BSc (Hons) Digital & Technology Solutions Software Engineer pathway)
  • Based in Stevenage, Bristol, or Bolton (to attend specific universities: MK:U Cranfield University, University Centre Weston, or Manchester Met University)
  • Available for face-to-face university study 1 day per week starting September 2024
  • Commitment to a 4-year full-time programme

Responsibilities

  • Study towards a BSc (Hons) Digital & Technology Solutions Software Engineer pathway 1 day per week at university
  • Work on new and existing software products across MBDA sites (Stevenage, Bristol, or Bolton) when not at university
  • Participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle within supportive teams
  • Undertake 6 x 6-month placements in years 1-3 across software departments to gain exposure to development methodologies and technologies
  • Complete a year-long placement in a chosen department in year 4, alongside a final project
  • Develop software for products including Mission Planning and Control systems, Command, Control and Firing Units, Real Time components (e.g., Weapons and Missile Control Units), and Test Systems
  • Work with embedded systems to front-end software on platforms like Linux and Windows, using languages including C, C++, and Java
  • Collaborate with multinational teams and other departments to innovate and improve software development processes
