Position

Software Engineer IV Location: Remote (London, UK)

As a Software Engineer IV, you will collaborate with Product Managers and Designers to lead challenging projects, building features and products for our community and client companies. You will act as a collaborative and effective senior engineer, contributing broad technological expertise, deep domain knowledge, and a dedication to business objectives. You will seek leadership responsibilities, drive new initiatives, and systematically improve technical weaknesses within your squad's and shared codebases.

What You Will Do

First Month (H.A.T.C.H. Onboarding):

  • Familiarize yourself with the company and colleagues.
  • Set up your development environment.
  • Understand engineering processes.
  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of the domain.

By Day 30:

  • Meet most Engineering colleagues.
  • Pair with other Software Engineers.
  • Develop a strong understanding of codebases and products.
  • Prepare for hands-on coding.

By Day 60:

  • Contribute to a significant project feature.
  • Become more connected with the team and stakeholders.

By Day 90:

  • Make impactful technical contributions.
  • Earn trust and credibility within your squad and the Engineering team.
  • Present progress during review/demo sessions.

Long Term:

  • Lead projects in collaboration with stakeholders, designers, and product leaders.
  • Build, ship, and maintain highly available, performant, and durable features.
  • Deliver key results for impactful objectives with your team.
  • Participate in cross-squad initiatives.
  • Mentor and be mentored by other engineers.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in full-stack software engineering, particularly within a SaaS environment.
  • Experience developing applications with Ruby on Rails, Python, or other object-oriented languages.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience or interest in generative AI.
  • Experience with Elasticsearch / OpenSearch.
  • Experience with GraphQL.

Compensation

  • Band: 90,000 GBP to 110,000 GBP
  • Additional: Equity
