Requirements

  • 3 to 6 years of total experience, including 2+ years in Backend engineering platform development
  • 2+ years of experience in Java J2EE technologies, Distributed systems, and large scale application development and design
  • Hands-on experience with Kafka and Cassandra
  • Demonstrated knowledge of RESTful Web Services
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Design Patterns
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Data Structures and Algorithms
  • Demonstrated knowledge of SQL and No-SQL technologies such as Oracle and Kafka
  • Experience with containerization technology and Microservices
  • Well-versed in CI/CD
  • Strong technical background with hands-on capability in Java, Multithreading, Data Structures, Algorithms, and Design Patterns to develop robust, high-performance, and scalable applications
  • Ability to mentor top individual technical talent
  • Minimum: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 2 years’ experience in software engineering or related area; OR 4 years’ experience in software engineering or related area
  • Preferred: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or related area
  • Preferred: Background in creating inclusive digital experiences, knowledge of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, accessibility best practices, and Walmart’s accessibility standards

Responsibilities

  • Code, unit test, and build high-performance and scalable applications that meet the needs of millions of Walmart International customers in supply chain management and customer experience
  • Demonstrate up-to-date expertise and apply it to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans by providing expert advice and guidance to others
  • Support and align efforts to meet customer and business needs; build commitment for perspectives and rationales
  • Provide and support the implementation of business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders
  • Identify business needs; determine and carry out necessary processes and practices; monitor progress and results
  • Recognize and capitalize on improvement opportunities; adapt to competing demands, organizational changes, and new responsibilities
  • Model compliance with company policies and procedures; support company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity
  • Incorporate compliance into the development and implementation of business plans; use the Open Door Policy; demonstrate and assist others in applying these in business processes
