Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, along with 4+ years of experience in data engineering or a similar role with a strong focus on building and maintaining data pipelines. Proficiency in Python, including data structures, algorithms, and libraries like Pandas and NumPy, is essential. Strong experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, including design, optimization, and performance tuning, is required. Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and platforms such as Amazon Redshift, Google BigQuery, or Snowflake is necessary. Hands-on experience with ETL tools like Apache Airflow, Talend, or custom Python scripts is needed, as is knowledge of data modeling and designing scalable data architectures. The ability to troubleshoot complex data issues and ensure data quality and reliability is also a key requirement. Preferred qualifications include experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and their data services, knowledge of big data technologies (Spark, Hadoop, Kafka), understanding of data governance, privacy, and compliance standards, familiarity with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker), and experience with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD practices. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams are also preferred, as are relevant data engineering or cloud certifications.
