Candidates must have at least 2 years of software engineering experience, with a proven ability to design, build, scale, and maintain production services and compose service-oriented architectures. Experience executing technical tasks and projects end-to-end is required, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Prior professional experience with Golang, Postgres, or MongoDB, experience building financial, high-reliability, or security systems, experience with Coinbase products or blockchains, experience decomposing monoliths into microservices, and a passion for blockchain technology are considered advantageous.
The Backend Engineer will build new services using Golang to meet critical product and business needs, and articulate a long-term vision for maintaining and scaling backend systems. They will collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate product and technical visions into quarterly roadmaps, take ownership of task and project completion and quality, and write high-quality, well-tested code. The role also involves demonstrating a bias for action and using data-driven decisions to rapidly experiment with new solutions.
