Requirements

Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in computer science, math, engineering, hard science, or comparable industry experience, and demonstrate strong knowledge of data structures, distributed algorithms, and asynchronous architectures. Extensive experience with large-scale NoSQL databases such as Bigtable, HBase, or Cassandra is required, as well as familiarity with setting up, managing, and deploying to the cloud platforms like GCP.

Responsibilities

The Software Engineer will build highly scalable, distributed services capable of handling hundreds of millions of events per day, partnering with product management to define project requirements and implementing engineering solutions to address complex customer needs at scale. They will collaborate with other engineers within the API Platform team and across other engineering teams, contributing to the evolution and improvement of engineering practices, documenting and demonstrating solutions through various methods, and maintaining good code hygiene.
