Position Overview

Our software engineers are integral to providing effective care at scale, comfortable with high-level specifications, working independently and in small teams, and actively participating in the product development process from ideation to production.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and a diverse team of engineers to build the Android mobile applications our members rely on for world-class digital healthcare.
  • Dedicate 80-90% of your time to hands-on coding, serving as a technical leader and mentor to junior engineers by solving challenging programming and design problems.
  • Lead large projects by anticipating infrastructure and architectural needs and proposing innovative AI solutions to complex problems.
  • Utilize your experience to influence and shape the future direction of projects and technologies, adopting and advocating for new technological advancements.
  • Play a critical role in the full agile software development life cycle, including architecture, design, and development, from conception to deployment.
  • Write clean, well-tested code to ensure application stability and maintainability.
  • Drive the resolution of complex problems with minimal direction.
  • Research, adopt, and advocate for new technologies.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of working experience in Android product development.
  • Experience in building scalable and maintainable app architectures.
  • Strong command of Kotlin, including its features and best practices.
  • Strong understanding of multi-threading and asynchronous programming.
  • Experience with Android frameworks (specific frameworks not listed, but implied).
  • Knowledge of design patterns such as MVVM, MVC, and the ability to implement them.
  • Experience with Android unit and UI testing frameworks.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI).
  • Experience with the app submission process, app signing, and review guidelines.
  • Curiosity and a focus on solving problems over being right.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills (verbal and written).

  • Experience working in healthcare or another regulated industry.
  • Proven experience working with cross-platform development, including Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP) and hybrid platforms.
