Candidates should possess over 4 years of experience in backend or platform engineering, with a specialization in distributed systems and API design. Experience in designing and operating real-time, low-latency API platforms at scale is necessary, along with proficiency in protocols like HTTP, gRPC, and WebSockets, caching, load balancing, and API security. Familiarity with web development frameworks such as Flask, Django, or FastAPI, and concurrent programming designs like AsyncIO is required. Proficient cloud computing skills with AWS and backend development using Python are essential, as is experience with unit and functional testing frameworks. Knowledge of API gateways, load balancing, caching, and observability tools (Kibana, Grafana, Datadog, or Prometheus) is needed. Familiarity with event-driven architectures, message queues (Kafka), and stream processing frameworks is preferred. Working knowledge of DevOps practices with hands-on experience in Docker and Kubernetes is also required.
The Software Engineer will define and promote best practices for API design, versioning, patterns, and developer experience. They will take complex projects from concept to production, collaborating with multiple teams. The role involves leading technical deep dives, reviews, and postmortems to enhance engineering quality.
