Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
5+ years of software engineering experience building large-scale distributed systems
Excellent programming skills in Java, with solid experience in Spring Boot framework
Solid understanding of relational and NoSQL databases (MySQL, DynamoDB, Redis, MongoDB, Elasticsearch)
Experience designing and maintaining RESTful APIs and backend microservices
Familiarity with performance optimization, multithreading, caching strategies, and scalability techniques
Clear communication and collaboration skills with a focus on practical execution
Comfortable with CI/CD, containerization, and cloud-native development (e.g., AWS ECS, S3, ElasticCache)
Starting pay based on a number of factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience
Location-based compensation structure (at least 5 days notice)

Responsibilities

Designing and implementing scalable, secure, and reliable backend services using Java and Spring Boot
Working closely with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions
Owning and optimizing critical service components across databases and messaging layers
Building and maintaining integrations with storage and search systems
Implementing and improving monitoring, logging, and alerting to ensure system health, availability, and observability
Participating in on-call rotations, proactively responding to production incidents, and driving root cause analysis and long-term fixes
Traging customer issues and contributing to long-term platform quality and performance
Supporting CI/CD pipelines, automating tests, and ensuring production system health and stability
Participating in system design reviews, code reviews, and technical deep dives
Collaborating with team members to ensure high-quality features are delivered to customers
