AI Architect
bswiftFull Time
Expert & Leadership (9+ years)
Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer Science, or a related scientific field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, with a minimum of 15 years of experience or a Master’s degree with at least 13 years of experience, or a PhD with a minimum of 10 years of experience in NPU architecture and development. Strong knowledge of NPU architecture and development is required, along with familiarity with CNN and Transformer Networks, including hands-on experience with LLM/LVM, and proficiency in processor architectures such as ARM and RISC-V.
The NPU Architect will analyze state-of-the-art AI algorithms, including camera and Gen AI use cases, drive the architectural definition of NPUs for mobile AI applications, create NPU simulators, map Gen AI use cases to NPUs and simulators with compiler concepts, optimize and co-design software and hardware for low power and high performance, lead PPA (power, performance, and area) tradeoff analysis, work closely with AI use case developers, NPU compiler, and software architects to develop optimized architectural solutions, support the development of NPUs to ensure architectural success, and collaborate with the design verification team for debugging and meeting code and functional coverage targets.
Develops advanced technology in multiple domains
Samsung Research America specializes in advanced technologies such as next-generation communications, artificial intelligence, digital media, mobile platforms, and digital health. Their innovations include FadeNet, a convolutional neural-network based technology, and the ECG Monitor App, which enables ECG recording using Galaxy Watch for atrial fibrillation screening.
