Responsibilities
- Implement distribution and logistics programs to high efficiency, reducing costs and improving customer service
- Maintain inventory by receiving, storing, and shipping product; secure warehouse
- Supervise staff, providing clear direction, goals, training, and accountability
- Support the Warehouse Superintendent
- Pick and pack orders timely; review work at end of day to ensure completion
- Receive and count stock items and record data in computer
- Set tone and expectations for daily activities using leadership skills and shift group leaders
- Work closely with customer service to align resources to demand
- Accomplish warehouse human resource objectives: selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, disciplining employees; communicating expectations; monitoring, appraising performance; recommending compensation; adhering to policies
- Meet operational standards by contributing to strategic plans, implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; identifying improvements
- Ensure highest safety standards, addressing and improving safety processes and behaviors
- Move inventory by scheduling materials to/from warehouse; coordinate transfers with departments
