Responsibilities

  • Handle and investigate Defense Base Act claims within Federal Workers Compensation jurisdiction using a proactive, best practice approach aligned with AIG quality standards
  • Promote and demonstrate principles of ‘Treating Customers Fairly’ in claims handling
  • Proactively identify and review suspect/fraudulent claims, dealing with them in line with guidelines
  • Maintain regular contact with internal stakeholders, brokers, (medical) experts, clients’ lawyers, victims or their legal representatives
  • Build effective relationships with internal and external customers and act as a point of referral
  • Provide support to Team Managers, including deputizing in their absence (e.g., monitoring market/industry practices in claims handling)
  • Collaborate with underwriting colleagues to improve products using claims experience gained
