Requirements

  • Formal qualification such as HNC, HND or degree in a relevant Engineering/Scientific discipline
  • Proven track record integrating Vision Systems and Automated inspection solutions, ideally using Cognex and Keyence
  • Programming experience in C / C#
  • Knowledge of code readers
  • Control system skills in Siemens S7 or Allen Bradley PLC platforms (beneficial but not a prerequisite)
  • Experience with vision libraries and frameworks such as OpenCV or PyTorch (nice to have)
  • Track record of accomplishing objectives, working proactively, and managing own time effectively
  • Ability to follow procedures and create accurate documents in a highly regulated industry

Responsibilities

  • Support test strip and biosensor manufacturing processes
  • Provide innovative approach to problem solving and stay abreast of current developments in vision systems technology
  • Collaborate with engineering colleagues across manufacturing and R&D
  • Involved in all aspects of vision systems projects: scoping initial requirements, generating proposals and specifications, design, development, and installation across automated manufacturing equipment
  • Develop and promote a Machine Vision strategy for the department
  • Advise on latest industry trends, methodologies, and emerging applications
  • Lead on sourcing and supplier selection
