Requirements

Tertiary qualification in Planning/Urbanism/Human Geography/Sustainability/Communications or related degree/discipline
2–5 years of experience in an urban planning environment
Knowledge of the NSW planning framework and/or social policy environment
Well-versed communication skills, and the ability to build rapport with clients and other project team members
Excellent writing skills, able to draft efficiently, write accurate and comprehensive reports, and prepare external correspondence
An understanding of good engagement practices
Ability to work collaboratively across a range of projects, including as part of a multidisciplinary team
Well-developed project management skills
Ability to liaise well with a range of clients and provide advice across both private and government authorities
Team player with passion and drive to work in a high-performing environment
Interest in developing others within the team by sharing knowledge and collaborative work experiences

Responsibilities

Work on high-profile urban development projects as part of a team on large-scale complex projects
Manage other social strategy and engagement projects under the guidance of the Project Director
Take a key role in preparing planning deliverables, including social impact assessments, social infrastructure studies, social research and measurement, community and stakeholder engagement strategies, as well as local and state government strategies
Develop technical expertise
Build on existing project management skills
Cultivate strong client relationships
Help shape the future of cities
