Requirements

  • 10+ years’ experience in systems architecture or system design, with a strong background in software, hardware, or embedded systems
  • Proven expertise in profiling and analyzing CPU, GPU, memory, power, and bandwidth performance
  • Skilled in data-driven architectural decision-making for compute, networking, and software components across edge, vehicle, and cloud systems
  • Experience designing and validating fail-operational, fault-tolerant systems using real-world failure and performance data
  • Ability to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, power optimizations, and scaling risks, and collaborate cross-functionally to optimize system reliability and efficiency
  • Strong communicator, able to translate complex technical insights into clear recommendations for both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Bonus Qualifications
  • Experience in Linux environments with hands-on experience using GPU profiling and monitoring tools, including DCGM, NVTX, and Nsight
  • Experience with Databricks, Looker, and Grafana for gathering analytics and dashboarding
  • Experience with systems or SW development for an autonomous vehicle company

Responsibilities

  • Lead analytics-driven architectural evaluations across compute, networking, and software, guiding system partitioning between edge, in-vehicle, and cloud
  • Apply analytical tools to logs and real-time data from simulation and test environments to validate architectural changes for power efficiency and performance
  • Identify and resolve inefficiencies and scalability risks, ensuring smooth progression from prototype to large-scale deployments (hundreds to thousands of vehicles)
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including service owners, safety, hardware, and infrastructure—to ensure reliability, fault tolerance, and efficient operation under real-world constraints
  • Deliver clear, data-backed recommendations to stakeholders, enabling informed system design and long-term architectural planning
  • Profile system performance (CPU, GPU, memory, and bandwidth), assess operational efficiency, and identify bottlenecks or failure risks across compute and service layers

Zoox

Develops autonomous electric ride-hailing vehicles

About Zoox

Zoox focuses on creating a fully integrated autonomous ride-hailing service designed specifically for urban transportation. Unlike other companies that modify existing vehicles for self-driving capabilities, Zoox has engineered its own vehicle from the ground up, optimizing it for safety, efficiency, and passenger comfort. The vehicle features advanced sensors, cameras, and AI systems that allow it to navigate complex city environments. It can carry up to four passengers in a spacious interior, ensuring a pleasant ride experience. Safety is paramount, with rigorous testing and collaboration with regulatory bodies to meet high standards. Additionally, Zoox's vehicles are fully electric, promoting sustainability by reducing emissions. The company also develops a user-friendly ride-hailing platform that uses data analytics to improve routing and reduce wait times. Zoox aims to enhance urban mobility while prioritizing safety and environmental responsibility.
