Expertise in designing technical underpinnings of products
Hands-on experience building key systems and delivering complex, large-scale technical efforts
Strong technical mentorship and leadership skills
Knowledge of scalable, functional, and reliable software products and integrations
Proficiency in assessing and recommending tools, technology decisions, build/buy/partner strategies
Experience developing and executing short-term and long-term roadmaps
Skills in identifying, scoping, and leading large technical projects
Ability to champion software engineering and operational excellence, metrics, processes, and standards
Experience in recruiting, managing, and developing software engineering teams

Responsibilities

Lead a team of highly skilled software engineers and drive development of digital products (e.g., order management, customer management, marketing, production, inventory, planning optimization, loyalty, merchandise, servicing, repairs, mobile app, vehicle connectivity)
Work with engineering managers, senior engineers, and cross-functional partners to design technical product foundations
Build key systems hands-on and ensure successful delivery of complex technical efforts
Collaborate with engineers and technical leaders to ship interoperable products and systems managing customer interactions
Partner with product and design teams to create how/when plans, making tradeoffs for business priorities, user experience, and technical sustainability
Assess and recommend key tools, technologies, and build/buy/partner decisions for current and future needs
Develop technology and best practices for scalable, reliable software and integrations
Develop and lead execution of short-term and long-term roadmaps; design, code, deploy, and operate technical architecture/systems
Identify, scope, and lead large technical projects to evolve early-stage products, scale systems, reduce complexity, and improve reliability
Champion engineering excellence by establishing/improving metrics, processes, standards, tooling
Assist in calibrating and developing the software engineering team
Recruit and manage a team of software engineers, setting high standards for quality development
