Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of highly skilled software engineers and drive development of digital products (e.g., order management, customer management, marketing, production, inventory, planning optimization, loyalty, merchandise, servicing, repairs, mobile app, vehicle connectivity)
  • Work with engineering managers, senior engineers, and cross-functional partners to design technical product foundations
  • Build key systems hands-on and ensure successful delivery of complex technical efforts
  • Collaborate with engineers and technical leaders to ship interoperable products and systems managing customer interactions
  • Partner with product and design teams to create how/when plans, making tradeoffs for business priorities, user experience, and technical sustainability
  • Assess and recommend key tools, technologies, and build/buy/partner decisions for current and future needs
  • Develop technology and best practices for scalable, reliable software and integrations
  • Develop and lead execution of short-term and long-term roadmaps; design, code, deploy, and operate technical architecture/systems
  • Identify, scope, and lead large technical projects to evolve early-stage products, scale systems, reduce complexity, and improve reliability
  • Champion engineering excellence by establishing/improving metrics, processes, standards, tooling
  • Assist in calibrating and developing the software engineering team
  • Recruit and manage a team of software engineers, setting high standards for quality development
