Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science or engineering, and demonstrate strong experience in object-oriented programming, particularly with C#, along with the ability to design, develop, and maintain robust, unit-tested .NET applications. They must also have proficiency in source control management (GIT, SVN), experience with CI/CD, and a self-starter mentality with excellent communication and problem-solving skills, thriving in a fast-paced environment. Experience in instrument software/hardware integration, biotechnology, bioinformatics, or image processing is considered a plus.
The Senior/Staff Software Engineer will work as part of Agile scrum teams to design, implement, and test the instrument control software for Illumina’s DNA sequencing and genotyping devices, contributing to software architecture and designs. They will participate in all stages of the agile development process, including sprint planning, daily scrum meetings, and demos, while creating and executing unit tests, troubleshooting defects, and contributing to design and code reviews. Furthermore, they will deliver complex technical information clearly and concisely, and collaborate across organizations.
