Candidates must possess a BS or higher in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent experience. A minimum of 10 years of industry data science experience is required, with a proven track record of influencing senior stakeholders and company-level outcomes. Strong Python skills for data analysis using pandas and Jupyter Notebook, experience writing and optimizing complex SQL queries on large datasets, and a solid background in inferential statistics, particularly in experimentation settings, are essential. Familiarity with data analytics and BI tools like Looker, Tableau, PowerBI, or Snowflake, and experience with big data technologies such as Spark are also necessary. A machine learning background and excellent communication, presentation, and documentation skills are highly desirable.
The Senior Staff Data Scientist will lead cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and engineers to devise insightful metrics, shape and oversee novel experiments, and present data-driven viewpoints to guide key decisions. They will identify and drive new strategic avenues for growth through deep dive analysis, work on models deployed to production, and educate diverse groups on data utilization.
