Requirements

10+ years of total experience in Cloud Architecture with 5+ years in GCP
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
Professional certifications such as Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect or equivalent
Expertise in GCP services like Compute Engine, Kubernetes Engine, BigQuery, Cloud Storage, and Pub/Sub
Hands-on experience with cost management and optimization tools like GCP Pricing Calculator and Billing Reports
Strong understanding of cloud security and compliance standards
Proficiency in DevOps tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and CI/CD pipelines
Solid knowledge of API management and tools like Apigee
Familiarity with container orchestration tools like Kubernetes
Strong understanding of microservices architecture and serverless computing
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Experience with hybrid and multi-cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure) is preferred
Knowledge of scripting languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell is preferred

Responsibilities

Design and implement robust cloud-based solutions, ensuring scalability, reliability, and cost-effectiveness
Develop and execute cloud strategies that align with organizational goals
Oversee cloud infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, security, and availability
Analyze current cloud usage and identify opportunities to improve performance, reduce costs, and enhance resource utilization
Establish and maintain security protocols for GCP resources, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations
Implement cost optimization strategies, including monitoring, rightsizing, and identifying underutilized resources
Work with development, operations, and business teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery of cloud services
Simplify and streamline Identity and Access Management policies, ensuring appropriate access control
Optimize API management workflows and costs using Apigee or alternative platforms
Stay up to date with cloud technology advancements and provide recommendations to enhance the organization’s cloud capabilities
Design and implement robust disaster recovery and backup strategies
Stay up to date with GCP advancements and implement best practices for cloud operations
