Job Purpose

As a Senior Software Engineer on the Pricing team, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining distributed backend systems that power our pricing capabilities. You will work in a highly collaborative environment, contributing to the entire software development lifecycle, from concept to deployment and ongoing support. This role emphasizes building scalable, event-driven systems using Microservices, Data Pipelines, and Producer-Consumer architectures. You will also be involved in performance tuning, testing, configuration, and production monitoring to ensure robust and reliable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Software Development:
    • Design and implement distributed backend systems using Java/Kotlin, Spring Boot, and event-driven architectures.
    • Build and maintain Microservices and data pipelines that support pricing operations.
    • Drive development of existing software and contribute to new software development by analyzing and identifying areas for modification and improvement.
    • Develop software that is fast, secure, and reliable to meet defined requirements.
  • Collaboration & Teamwork:
    • Collaborate daily with engineers, designers, and product managers to deliver high-quality solutions.
    • Participate in Agile development, contributing to sprint planning, code reviews, and continuous integration.
    • Mentor junior engineers and share technical insights to elevate team capabilities.
  • System Optimization & Maintenance:
    • Monitor and optimize system performance, ensuring scalability and reliability in production environments.
    • Ensure high test coverage and code quality through unit testing and best practices.
    • Perform software maintenance tasks.
  • Integration:
    • Integrate with APIs and frameworks to solve complex business challenges.

Technical Skills & Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong experience with Java/Kotlin, Spring Boot, and backend development.
  • Proficiency in event-based systems and tools like Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.
  • Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud architecture (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Experience with Git-based source control and Agile methodologies.
  • Understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems.
  • Solid grasp of performance tuning, testing strategies, and production monitoring.
