Candidates should have several years of experience building complex Android applications using Java, Kotlin, and/or C++. They should be proficient in modern programming practices such as code review, unit testing, and automation. A passion for building excellent products, a sense of ownership, and a commitment to Mozilla's values are also required. Experience resolving problems, signaling risk, fostering change, and facilitating collaborative decision-making is necessary.
The Senior Software Engineer will build, debug, and ship Android features and solutions that promote a healthy and inclusive internet. They will collaborate with partners to define scope and requirements, and effectively communicate technical topics to diverse teams. Responsibilities include defining and upholding quality standards through code reviews and testing, working with Gecko teams to bring browser functionality to Android, and addressing problems across multiple layers of the application stack. The engineer will also provide solutions and feedback to the open-source community to improve Android solutions.
