Requirements
Candidates should possess 5+ years of programming experience in server-side applications and components, along with experience designing, prototyping, building, and debugging highly scalable, distributed, reliable, and resilient applications. Solid hands-on low-level technical expertise in Linux systems troubleshooting and profiling is required, as is experience in distributed systems, Linux networking stack, and computer systems programming. Familiarity with NGINX/OpenResty/Kong/LuaJIT and Envoy or Istio is a bonus.
Responsibilities
As a Senior Software Engineer, the individual will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining API management software and its underlying stack, including architecture, design, and implementation of new innovative features such as proxying capabilities, load balancing, and database support. They will also engage with the open-source community, extend Kong core to support industry trends, fill gaps between Kong and third-party deployment platforms, troubleshoot bugs, perform performance tuning, and conduct low-level optimizations. Furthermore, they will be responsible for any additional tasks required by their manager.
