We have achieved significant traction helping low-income Americans make ends meet and are now focused on scaling. Our current tech stack includes a mobile/web app built with React and React Native using TypeScript, and a backend consisting of Java services deployed on Google Cloud.

Responsibilities

Our team has two primary goals:

  1. Feature Development: Supporting numerous external and internal applications. The future of our product is open to innovation, and we welcome changes to user flows, proprietary algorithm computation, third-party API integrations, data storage, and traffic serving.
  2. Scalability: Enhancing the scalability of our customer-facing applications to support growth from 100,000 to 10 million users. This involves improving the efficiency and reliability of both customer-facing and internal tools.

Specific tasks include:

  • Data Engineering
  • Automation procedures
  • Addressing availability and monitoring challenges
  • User-facing projects such as component and library creation/upkeep
  • REST API design
  • Testing and QA processes
  • CI/CD enhancements

What You Have

As a Senior Fullstack Engineer, we are looking for individuals with experience in owning a feature from conception to completion, encompassing both frontend and backend development. While expertise across our entire stack is not expected, strong proficiency in either the frontend or backend will set you up for success.

  • 6+ years of industry experience as a software engineer.
  • Experience with REST-based services and API development, primarily using Java.
  • Experience building UI/UX for new features from end-to-end.

Company Culture & Benefits

Our team is small and nimble, offering extraordinary autonomy and ownership. You will have a significant influence on the company's direction, both technologically and product-wise.

Recent Team Accomplishments:

  • Building a Payments API platform processing millions of dollars daily.
  • Implementing advanced mathematical processes for our proprietary risk algorithm.
  • Normalizing relational database schemas for performance optimization for over 1 million users.
  • Developing end-to-end user notification capabilities (SMS, Email, Push).
  • Building internal tools to empower Customer Support Specialists.

We pride ourselves on our speed of execution. We encourage new ideas for processes, features, and design paradigms. Brigit offers a mature CI/CD platform with automated deployment, an easy-to-use development environment (local/staging/production), and collaborative teammates. We automate manual tasks to focus on innovation that helps people.
