Position Overview

Flock Safety is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cellular focused Software Engineer to significantly improve our integrated 5G connectivity solution across the entire stack. This role involves working with state-of-the-art cellular modems, connecting them to our drone and web-based systems. As a lead engineer for your discipline, you will tackle challenging setups, support advanced 5G features within the radio firmware, driver, and user space. You will integrate multiple cellular radio links into a single stream, optimizing link capacity, latency, and stream allocation. Additionally, you will integrate a cloud-based solution into the cellular system and optimize key performance indicators for this connection. This position assumes full ownership of the Cellular setup, including establishing metrics and monitoring test results. You will collaborate with RF, Systems, Device SW, and Cloud Engineering teams.

Note: This position requires you to be partly on-site at our Engineering center in Atlanta, Georgia.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.
• Experience: 3+ years of experience in cellular firmware and user space design.
• Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in C, C++, and Python is required.
• Soft Skills:
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation).
  • Excellent teamwork skills with a proven ability to collaborate within a cross-functional team and ensure timely project success.

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of wireless standards, specifically 3GPP.
• Knowledge and experience with commercial connectivity devices, including mobile and IoT devices.
• Experience with wireless products and their general software stack.
• Familiarity with Databricks, Snowflake, or similar database software.
