Experienced Software Engineer with expertise in building scalable, elegant solutions for media player platforms (e.g., Android, PlayStation, Xbox)
Strong skills in developing applications for streaming video across devices including phones, tablets, and TVs
Proficiency in Kotlin codebase, unit tests, automated tests, and modern libraries
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Bias for action and ability to maintain high code quality standards
Familiarity with critical components such as release processes, remote configuration management, and live production issues
Knowledge of high-level project aspects and ability to monitor team health
Leadership skills to improve processes with a positive attitude

Responsibilities

Build scalable, elegant solutions for Disney’s media player platforms on Android, PlayStation, Xbox, and other platforms
Develop applications that stream live and video-on-demand (VOD) content across phones, tablets, TVs, and other devices
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance playback experience
Assist with critical components including release processes, remote configuration management, and live production issues
Maintain high code quality through unit tests, automated tests, and modern libraries in a Kotlin codebase
Seek out and lead opportunities to improve team processes
