Requirements

Ph.D. or MS in Organic Chemistry or related field, with 2+ years post-Ph.D. experience or 7+ years post-MS experience relevant to job requirements
Motivated self-starter with demonstrated ability of successful results, including publications, presentations, and intellectual property generation
Ability to perform research, synthesize, and evaluate photophysical properties of dyes to demonstrate feasibility of new dye technologies and applications for cellular analysis
Ability to keep thorough records of experiments, analyze and present research results in meetings and publications, and track Research Project Plans
Ability to maintain scientific and industry awareness by reviewing literature, competitive IP filings, and participating in meetings

Responsibilities

Work as part of a team towards the invention of novel fluorescent molecules, including their synthesis, purification, and characterization of physical, chemical, and functional properties for biological applications, such as markers in flow cytometry
Support ongoing chemistry projects by carrying out organic synthesis of fluorescent dyes suitable for flow cytometry
Establish internal relationships and interact with reagent development groups to understand current and future needs of the organization
Work independently, actively publish results in peer-reviewed journals, and generate intellectual property filings that describe technologies and applications leading to an innovative and robust fluorescent dyes pipeline
