Requirements

  • BS or MS in Biology, Molecular Biology, Genomics, Biochemistry or a related field with 2-4+ years of relevant pharmaceutical or biotechnology experience
  • Strong understanding of molecular and cell biology
  • Experience growing, maintaining and transfecting mammalian cell lines
  • Hands-on experience using liquid handlers is essential
  • Experienced in design and execution of molecular and cellular assays
  • Excellent communication, organizational skills and a willingness to learn
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a fast-paced technical environment
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency with specific liquid handlers such as the Beckman Echo, Agilent Bravo and Hamilton STAR/STAR V
  • Experience with primary hepatocytes or other primary human cells is highly beneficial
  • Past experience with RNA editing and/or RNA oligonucleotides
  • Next-generation sequencing library preparation, including single-cell methods
  • Demonstrated experience working in cross-functional teams

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute screening assays to enable drug discovery, aided by high-throughput liquid handlers
  • Culture, maintain and transfect a variety of mammalian cell lines, such as immortalized cell lines and primary cells
  • Support the development of novel molecular, cellular and functional assays for our internal therapeutic pipeline
  • Perform standard molecular biology techniques (e.g. PCR, qPCR, ELISA, Western blot, etc.)
  • Collaborate with a cross-functional team in a dynamic, matrixed environment to achieve shared company deadlines
  • Clearly document experiments, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and data in an electronic lab notebook (ELN)
  • Communicate and present experimental design and findings with colleagues and project teams
