Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in reliability engineering, mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering or similar discipline
  • 5+ years in reliability engineering, ideally within robotics, medical devices, aerospace, or other complex electromechanical systems
  • Excellent project management and cross-functional team leadership skills
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at any level
  • Experience with problem-solving, root cause analysis, and analytical troubleshooting
  • Working knowledge of mechanical assembly, hydraulics, and complex machining
  • Applied Design of Experiments (DOE) experience
  • Demonstrated application of data analysis and statistical tools in manufacturing (MiniTab experience a plus)
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license a plus, though not required
  • Certifications in reliability engineering such as CRE a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate and partner with key stakeholders within the Engineering and Product Development organization
  • Familiarity with cross-functional team project management
  • Ability to analyze and problem solve complex operational challenges
  • Experience with statistical analysis software
  • Experience in designing and conducting reliability testing, validation protocols, and accelerated life testing (HALT/HASS)
  • Knowledge of reliability prediction software tools
  • Familiarity with industry standards (e.g. ISO 9001)
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Solid understanding of reliability principles, modeling techniques, and testing
  • Technical competence in interpreting datasheets/specs and understanding manufacturing processes
  • Understanding of sourcing agreements and vendor quality
  • Detail-oriented with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Excellent time management

Responsibilities

  • Develop processes, procedures, and tools for Design for Reliability (DFR) for highly complex electromechanical systems
  • Perform reliability analysis and modeling to predict system performance and recommend design changes to enhance predicted reliability
  • Develop and implement reliability test plans
  • Conduct failure mode and effects analysis on critical subsystems and component designs (FMEA & DFMEA)
  • Monitor system performance and identify reliability issues
  • Collaborate with design engineering teams from early concept through validation to improve product reliability
  • Develop and refine product maintenance strategies to ensure reliable operations
  • Perform root cause analysis of system failures
  • Provide technical guidance and training to other team members on reliability and DFR
  • Develop and maintain reliability metrics and reports
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
  • Own the development and refinement of process controls using risk management tools such as PFMEA
  • Take ownership of building Sanctuary’s reliability systems and processes in a clean-slate environment where few formal systems exist today
  • Support product commercialization, NPI, and volume manufacturing
  • Own the coordination of team project deliverables
  • Innovate best practices that drive continuous improvements in product commercialization, NPI, and volume manufacturing
  • Shape how reliability and quality practices are embedded throughout design, development, and production workflows
