Requirements

  • Expertise in product design verification and reliability engineering, particularly for infusion pump systems and electromechanical hardware
  • Ability to act as a subject matter expert in interpreting and executing Medtronic quality system elements related to hardware product verification and reliability testing
  • Proficiency in planning, designing, developing, and implementing testing methods and equipment for new product development and sustaining projects
  • Skills in compiling data, defining changes in testing equipment, procedures, manufacturing processes, or new testing requirements
  • Experience in ensuring program work products (e.g., plans, requirements, specifications, tests, results, traceability, risk management documents, reports) meet quality, reliability, and compliance standards
  • Systems engineering mindset to collaborate with cross-functional teams on designs spanning electro-mechanical, electro-chemical sensors, embedded firmware, and machine learning algorithms
  • Capability to provide guidance on sample testing parameters and specify tests to be performed
  • Knowledge of reliability assessments and test reports

Responsibilities

  • Negotiate within the business to improve overall product reliability through increased standards and accountability
  • Plan and execute large and complex medical device product development programs' design verification and reliability test strategy
  • Collaborate with cross-functional counterparts (e.g., systems engineering, product development teams) to ensure key interdependencies are understood and delivered from design planning through design transfer
  • Develop and evaluate designs from a design input requirements/design outputs perspective across multiple product interfaces
  • Plan and execute product reliability demonstration testing
  • Provide test area with parameters for sample testing and specify tests to be performed
  • Compile data and define changes required in testing equipment, testing procedures, manufacturing processes, or new testing requirements
  • Responsible for reliability assessments and test reports
  • Ensure all program work products meet Medtronic’s quality, reliability, and compliance requirements
  • Ensure product reliability and verification driven initiatives meet objectives for delivering highest quality products with supporting tools and processes
