Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Physics, Applied Physics, or Electrical Engineering with at least 8 years of experience, emphasizing cryogenic instrumentation supporting advanced quantum measurement techniques
  • Detailed knowledge and experience of modern experimental cryogenic physics techniques applied to quantum systems
  • Experience with low noise quantum measurement techniques to understand mechanical/electrical hardware issues
  • Experience with scientific programming for data analysis
  • Familiarity with thermal modeling software
  • Experience in scientific communication through technical presentations, oral presentations, written reports, and journal publications
  • Ability to climb ladders to use elevated test equipment
  • Ability to work safely in a laboratory environment
  • Ability to work at a computer for extended periods
  • U.S. citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance

Responsibilities

  • Be a main contributor toward the development of cryogenic hardware supporting spin qubit devices and testing relevant environmental control requirements
  • Lead resolution to hardware integration issues toward the development of advanced quantum test platforms
  • Develop an experimental plan and lead its successful execution
  • Perform proper data analysis, modeling, and assimilate historical understanding
  • Work with a dynamic integrated engineering team and collaborate with others in a constructive manner
  • Engage in technical communications to team members or management via oral presentations, written reports, and journal publications
