Candidates should possess a minimum of 7 years of estimating and/or cost control experience, with a preference for experience with complex, high-responsibility projects. They must demonstrate the ability to resolve conflicts successfully and possess strong decision-making and relationship-building skills, as well as the confidence to effectively present information to diverse audiences both verbally and in writing. A four-year degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Business, or an equivalent combination of technical training and related experience is required.
The Senior Project Controls Estimator will be responsible for leading the estimating of project capital budgets during development and managing cost control, change management, and risk assessment throughout a project’s execution phase. This includes independently producing conceptual estimates with incomplete information, leading the estimating and negotiating of contractual change orders, reviewing and estimating proposal specifications, and collaborating with owners, A/E firms, and contractors to provide cost guidance and scenario planning. The role also involves providing cost management throughout the project lifecycle, quantifying risks, developing mitigation plans, forecasting the Estimated Final Cost (EFC), and serving as a trainer to less experienced estimating staff, while acting as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in construction, estimating, cost control, and risk analysis.
