Position Overview

Baxter is seeking a Senior Construction Estimator to partner with key internal stakeholders and external installation subcontractors. The role involves developing tools and leveraging technology to improve process efficiency and enhance customer satisfaction across Baxter's project portfolio. The successful candidate will lead cross-functional collaboration and process improvement initiatives to ensure quality installation proposals that minimize change orders and project concessions. This role requires travel to customer locations for proposal assessments, facility reviews, and consultation with site installation teams.

Your Team

You will be part of the Care Communications Digital Health Solutions team, which focuses on a product portfolio including mobile clinical communication solutions, medical device integration, alarm and alert management, waveform visualization, and natural language processing solutions. The team's vision is to unify the software platform to drive workflow efficiency, improve patient outcomes, and strengthen patient engagement.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Partner with internal and external teams to capture installation scope on complex projects ($1M - $10M).
  • Create and lead nationwide 3rd party low-voltage installation pricing efforts, securing competitive pricing, holistic scope, and quality installation partners.
  • Lead the installation bid process, including Request for Proposal (RFP), bid process management, bidder development, prequalification, and evaluation.
  • Conduct detailed analysis of contract documents and specifications on large and complex projects to scope overall project requirements.
  • Lead the development of conceptual estimate proposal submissions and presentations to support Construction Program pursuits.
  • Coordinate with internal departments and external stakeholders to ensure the entirety of scope is captured within installation proposals.
  • Identify and solve process gaps to achieve ‘whole’ bids, thereby improving installation margins.
  • Conduct customer site visits and site walks to ensure projects adhere to regulatory requirements and installation partners comply with project specifications.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience estimating in healthcare construction, IT healthcare low-voltage industry, or a similar field is preferred.
  • 3 years of progressive experience in construction cost estimating.
  • 2+ years of on-site healthcare construction experience is preferred.
  • Proven success in leading pursuits valued at up to $20 million across various delivery methods.
  • Knowledge of different construction methods, planning, scheduling, sequencing, quality, safety, and timelines.
  • Extensive knowledge of key principles involved in bid preparation, including quantity takeoff procedures and systems, subtrade partner procurement, and pricing.
