Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years of applicable work experience
  • Experience working within the federal government contracting environment and associated accounting and finance systems such as Unanet (preferred), Deltek Costpoint, SAP, etc
  • Experience managing financial information, communicating financial results, and contributing to financial and operational decision-making
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel including experience with pivot tables and logic driven formulas, along with a good working knowledge of the Microsoft 365 suite of applications
  • Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to professionally communicate with all levels of client, technical and back-office personnel verbally and in writing
  • Excellent relationship building capability – ability to apply logical thinking and diplomacy to resolve complex issues with a mutually beneficial result
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced environment which requires multi-tasking, organization and attention to detail in order to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Experience with identifying and implementing process improvements
  • Ability to obtain the required government security clearance, which requires U.S. Citizenship
  • Ability to travel to Reston, VA headquarters as required
  • Ability to complete and clear a background check prior to start date; must be US Citizen and be clearable/ability to obtain clearance if needed

Responsibilities

  • Partnering with Program and Project managers and other senior leaders, the Business Operations and Contracts team, the Accounting team and others to provide full financial management lifecycle support to multiple contracts of various Government contract types
  • Developing individual program’s Annual Operating Plans and briefing results to leadership throughout the year
  • Maintaining program financial reporting to include budget vs actual variances, forecasts, line-item contract funding statuses and burn rate/estimates at completion (EAC)
  • Support the team in providing informative financial data (i.e. internal Program Management Reviews) in an effective format as well as in the use of Unanet
  • Developing ad hoc financial analyses, such as Rough Order of Magnitudes (ROMs) and Basis and/or Level of Effort client proposals on current project efforts as required
  • Reviewing and ensuring the accuracy of monthly customer and subcontractor/vendor invoices and creating supporting artifacts as required
  • Reviewing and tracking contract modifications focused on ceiling and funding updates
  • Preparing and tracking Purchase Requisitions to Purchase Order distribution and monitoring actuals incurred to date, matching labor to vendor invoices and providing estimates at completion (EAC)
  • Supporting the development of client and internal management status reporting, including data visualization collateral (charts, graphs)
  • Maintaining tools and templates to reflect contract modifications and annual contract updates (updated bill rates, new option year line items)
  • Identifying and implementing improvements to financial procedures, workflow, processes and tools
