Responsibilities

  • Work with OEM customers and R&D engineering team in the development of Electronic Control Units (ECU) with embedded software for the control of an AWD Torque Transfer system
  • Management of ECU hardware supplier for provisions of the electronics as well as internal software, validation, and calibrations teams to bring together the ECU as a complete control system product
  • Present electronic control unit design and system performance and obtain concurrence from customer
  • Manage system requirements and conformance to customer specification
  • Understand and manage to closure product/system issues relative to intended system usage; maintain customer action items list and manage commitments to ensure customer needs are met
  • Investigate customer product/system related problems and develop timely solutions
  • Represent BW-PDS ECU development department for the support of appropriate product teams as product team member; act as technical resource for the manufacturing plants
  • Be the primary OEM Customer contact for BW-PDS ECU development team
  • Provide facilitation of upfront analysis with OEM Customer of vehicle assembly plant and warranty returns
  • Review and approval of vendor electrical design, test plans, and results
  • Support control engineering in development of algorithm
  • Support customer test trips for systems issues and calibration
  • Support vehicle demonstrations and early prototype vehicle as needed
