Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in video production, preferably in sports
  • Deep well of knowledge of the NFL media landscape, including tactics, memes, and personalities
  • Must have experience editing in Adobe Premiere
  • Familiarity with Adobe After Effects preferred
  • Basic proficiency in color correction, audio mixing preferred
  • Some experience shooting with DSLRs and basic lighting
  • Experience fostering a culture of creativity and experimentation
  • A track record of setting and exceeding both individual and team goals
  • Currently residing in the United States or Canada (remote position)

Responsibilities

  • Pre-production collaboration with The Athletic’s newsroom
  • Contribute to new content ideation/creation
  • Produce and edit weekly football video content
  • Ability to implement pre-built graphics packages. Ability to build basic graphics is a major plus
  • Coordinate content and promotion planning with Athletic staffers across audio, video, editorial, social and programming teams
  • Perform basic social channel management tasks like uploading, scheduling and publishing
  • Be part of a peer review system with your colleagues
  • Sometimes shoot talent in studio
