Requirements

7+ years of experience in Process Safety Management
Bachelor’s degree in science/engineering/chemical or process Engineering (or equivalent)
Facilitated multiple process safety risk assessments and helped develop safe operating practices to support plant operations
Proven technical leadership and experience in a previous COMAH site or equivalent
Develop and deliver process safety training programs for staff
Act as a coach, mentor to department leaders and relevant associates
Lead investigations into process safety incidents and ensure compliance with all relevant process safety legislation and the Cytiva PSM standards
Chartered or working towards chartership (IChemE or equivalent)
In-depth knowledge of UK process safety regulations and risk assessment approaches
Strong communicator with the ability to present complex technical information clearly

Responsibilities

Lead with technical acumen and experience in delivering a “best in class” risk-based Process Safety Management system at the UK COMAH site in Newquay
Manage, own and drive the Process Safety Management program implementation, KPIs and continuous improvement action plans including sustainment actions
Have an active “hands on” approach in leading, coordinating and managing all the process safety assessments including HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA, and DSEAR
Support and help integrate Process Safety into the daily routine of operations including leading any related incident investigations and managing the Process safety critical devices maintenance program
Ensure operations comply with relevant process safety legislation including ATEX, COMAH and PSSR
Champion a culture of Process Safety Excellence and drive the Process Safety Management Program
Be an integral part of the site operations leadership team and a key member of the EHS team to guide in building a better PSM program for the site
