Requirements

  • Capable of performing project engineering activities including design, procurement, installation, commissioning, and start-up of new processing equipment
  • Ability to support plant operations by improving existing production processes and introducing new production processes
  • Knowledge of project management skills to define schedules, conduct review meetings, document minutes, track financials, and maintain documentation
  • Familiarity with compliance standards including OSHA Construction & General Industry, OSHA PSM, RMP, RCRA, DNR, EPA, Title V/PSD, OCPSF, Dept. of Commerce, NFPA, NEC
  • Experience with process hazard analyses, including level selection, checklist/template completion, MOC action items, mass & energy balances, process kinetics, equipment lists, P&IDs, and relief vent sizing per OSHA PSM
  • Ability to perform process-engineering activities such as chemical process design, equipment specification development, P&ID creation, and control strategy development
  • Skills in project schedule, budget, and scope management; coordinating with contractors, subcontractors, and stakeholders; reviewing construction drawings, specifications, and contracts; monitoring progress; ensuring safety, quality, and compliance
  • Experience supporting procurement activities including material take-offs, vendor coordination, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and punch lists

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support Hydrite’s Safety Vision, Mission, and Values, promoting safety across all operations, including contractor work
  • Perform project-engineering activities for new processing equipment or systems, ensuring on-time and within-budget completion
  • Continuously evaluate, recommend, and implement process and operating procedure improvements to optimize plant performance
  • Apply project-management skills to define schedules, conduct review meetings, document minutes, track financials, and maintain documentation
  • Support production of high-quality products meeting customer expectations, including audits and investigations
  • Provide engineering support to Corporate SQRA and Site EHS for regulatory compliance
  • Coordinate and lead process hazard analyses for new products/processes
  • Lead engineering efforts for Food Safety and SQF initiatives and projects
  • Provide technical support to Sales and Marketing teams and interface with customers
  • Uphold Hydrite’s Standard of Excellence in facilities, products, and services
  • Develop operating procedures, training materials, and technical guidance for new equipment and processes
  • Assist in mentoring and leading process/project engineers, co-ops, and interns
  • Support maintenance of plant equipment as a technical resource
  • Facilitate communication across departments and provide timely reports to management
  • Assist in project schedule, budget, scope management; coordinate with contractors and stakeholders; review drawings and contracts; monitor progress; ensure compliance during site visits
  • Support procurement activities including material take-offs, vendor coordination, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and punch lists
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and meet KPIs
