Requirements

  • Qualified Actuary or Masters degree in Mathematics, Data Science, Data Analysis or equivalent
  • Approximately 8 years of experience in Non-Life Reinsurance Pricing for Specialty Lines (Aviation, Financial Risk, Marine, Energy etc.)
  • Approximately 3 years of Pricing actuarial experience
  • Previous experience in managing small cross-functional teams (asset)
  • Strong actuarial background
  • Deep understanding of specialty lines and their risk characteristics
  • Proficiency in pricing tools (R, Python)
  • Strategic thinking to align pricing strategies with broader business objectives
  • Problem-solving skills: identifies problems and applies critical thinking to develop solutions
  • Leadership and influence experience managing teams and influencing cross-functional stakeholders
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

  • Lead Pricing and support the Business on profitability analysis for the specialty line department units
  • Define and execute pricing strategies aligned with business goals
  • Partner with underwriting and reserving teams
  • Lead innovation in pricing methodologies and tools
  • Develop and maintain pricing models for specialty products
  • Ensure technical pricing reflects risk adequately and complies with regulatory requirements
  • Monitor pricing adequacy and profitability across portfolios
  • Lead and mentor a team of pricing actuaries and analysts
  • Lead Business Review to support PartnerRe portfolio optimization
  • Define and lead variety of project teams (model development, annual parameter studies, ad hoc requests, etc.)
  • Foster a culture of technical excellence and collaboration
  • Collaborate with stakeholders including underwriters, head of departments, reserving, and risk management
  • Provide clear insights to reserving team (Deep dive and Bridging the plan exercise)
  • Present pricing insights and recommendations to Head of Pricing
  • Ensure pricing practices meet internal governance standards and external regulatory requirements
