Candidates should possess 8+ years of experience writing Houdini pipeline code using Python, demonstrating a passion for staying current with the latest Houdini features. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required, along with a demonstrated talent for designing intuitive and artist-friendly workflows. Applicants should have a solid understanding of object-oriented programming patterns, be comfortable with Git and unit testing, and possess experience with OpenUSD/Solaris and PDG/TOPs. Background as an FX artist using Houdini in a production environment is preferred.
The Senior Pipeline Developer will collaborate with Pipeline Leads to build a Houdini pipeline spanning lookdev, lighting, CFX, and FX, leveraging USD and Solaris. They will solve complex problems in Houdini pipeline workflows, write high-quality Python code, communicate with artists to identify inefficiencies and gather requirements, contribute to technical briefs and user documentation, and probe and understand the inner workings of complex systems.
