You will be responsible for development of Photonics Assembly process & equipment for NVIDIA's next generation products as part of the Advanced Technology Group (ATG).

The job requires working on complex problems and building advanced products; you will be providing solutions that are highly creative and directly contribute to product differentiation.

What you’ll be doing

  • Lead Photonics assembly tool & process development for NVIDIA’s next generation Silicon Photonics products and platforms.
  • Responsible for building & deploying high volume fiber assembly tool and qualifying photonics assembly pilot line for scale up of NVIDIA's silicon photonics products and platforms.
  • Responsible for defining tool architecture, tool features and functions, develop scalable processes for fiber alignment on large package body platforms, define assembly flow and own assembly quality and reliability.
  • Partner with assembly tool vendors to build, install, deploy and qualify Photonics Assembly equipment across high volume manufacturing sites.
  • Work closely with internal design, fabrication and packaging cross-functional teams to develop new assembly requirements, assembly flows, help with design of different test structures, share data, and lead new assembly processes.
  • Collaborate closely with Photonics assembly partners to build assembly pilot line and train partner engineers and technicians on assembly tools and processes.
  • Drive continuous improvement in assembly cycle time and assembly quality/reliability.

What we need to see

  • Degree in Optics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics or related fields with equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years optical assembly, test or packaging experience.
  • Strong background & experience in Silicon Photonics design, fabrication, test, CoWoS and assembly.
  • Hands-on experience in Photonics assembly development, especially optical fiber alignment at chip or package-scale, building and qualifying Photonics assembly equipment and analyzing assembly data.
  • Strong statistical analysis skills – ability to use data visualization techniques to deliver assembly data analysis and optimizing manufacturing techniques.
  • Understanding of quality control, statistical process control and DOE techniques.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Ways to stand out from the crowd

  • Experience in Silicon Photonics device design or fabrication, including familiarity with photonics test structure design.
  • Solid understanding of AutoCad, Zemax or other opto-mechanical software tools.
  • Mechanical simulation software like Ansys mechanical.
