Requirements

  • Extensive experience supporting large-scale enterprise networks
  • Deep knowledge of Cisco-based infrastructure (Catalyst, Nexus, VSS, StackWise/FlexStack)
  • Expertise in routing and switching protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, IBGP)
  • Proficiency in VLAN and VRF-based network designs
  • Hands-on experience with security technologies (Cisco ASA multi-context firewalls, Check Point firewalls, content-filtering)
  • Knowledge of wireless technologies (Cisco Wireless Controllers, Motorola wireless)
  • Experience with load balancing (F5), Bluecoat proxy services, QoS for voice/video, WAN optimisation (Cisco WAAS)
  • Proficiency in diagnostic tools (SolarWinds, Infoblox, packet capture, trace analysis, SNMP-based monitoring)
  • Strong documentation skills using Visio
  • Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure) and virtualised platforms
  • Experience with automation and scripting, particularly Python
  • Ability to operate with considerable independence

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and support critical network components (LAN, WAN, wireless, security, VPN, load balancing) across Cisco Catalyst, Nexus, VSS, and StackWise/FlexStack
  • Monitor and troubleshoot routing, switching, VLAN, and VRF environments
  • Provide hands-on support for security estate including firewalls and content-filtering
  • Manage wireless services using Cisco Wireless Controllers and Motorola technology
  • Support load balancing (F5), proxy services (Bluecoat), QoS, and WAN optimisation
  • Provide technical support via ServiceNow, including incident resolution, problem isolation, and root-cause analysis
  • Perform operational insight and diagnostics using monitoring tools
  • Contribute to network projects from design to deployment in traditional and cloud environments
  • Deliver regular updates to PMO teams, leadership, and stakeholders
  • Support remote sites, corporate data centres, and campus environments
  • Participate in global on-call rotation
