Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of experience
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. (no sponsorship for employment visas)
  • Ability to travel 15% of the time
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field (preferred)
  • Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) (preferred)
  • 12+ years of experience in industrial, embedded, or mission-critical software domains (preferred)
  • 8+ years of leadership experience (preferred)
  • Deep expertise in software development lifecycle and Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, SAFe, Lean Start-Up) (preferred)
  • Experience with Jama, DOORS, or other requirements management systems (preferred)
  • Proven ability to build strong cross-functional relationships across engineering, operations, and customer-facing teams (preferred)
  • Six Sigma Black Belt, PMP, CQM, or equivalent process/quality certifications (preferred)
  • CMMI or CSQE Certification (ASQ) (preferred)
  • In-depth knowledge of coding standards, testing frameworks, and quality tools (preferred)
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity practices including threat modeling and penetration testing (preferred)
  • Proficiency in Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and advanced problem-solving techniques (preferred)
  • Experience conducting product quality assessments (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Drive shift-left practices and partner with Product, Engineering, Security, and Manufacturing to embed quality, safety, and security early in the lifecycle (requirements, design, verification) to gain alignment and support for quality initiatives
  • Own quality KPIs (defect escape rate, anomaly backlog, MTTR, release quality, technical debt metrics) and drive continuous improvement toward targets
  • Establish and scale repeatable release governance, release categorization (patch, hotfix, minor/major), and triage processes to reduce risk and improve deployment predictability
  • Implement and operationalize tooling, dashboards, and data pipelines (e.g., Power BI, Jira, test automation frameworks) to provide real-time visibility and predictive signals for quality issues
  • Convert VOC and stakeholder feedback into prioritized COE initiatives, playbooks, and process standards adopted across business units
  • Represent Product Quality in executive forums and communicate program status, risks, and outcomes to senior leadership
  • Champion customer advocacy by enhancing product and process robustness
  • Sponsor major cross-BU initiatives and act as the primary quality escalation path for high-impact customer issues
  • Establish and maintain quality metrics and dashboards for leadership visibility
  • Standardize development processes to elevate software quality
  • Coach teams in structured problem-solving and performance optimization
  • Lead resolution of complex quality issues with urgency and precision
  • Promote continuous improvement in product design, validation, and delivery
  • Lead a global team focused on New Product Introduction and Continuation Projects for Software and Firmware Quality
  • Develop comprehensive quality strategies and roadmaps, working with engineering, anomaly management, and continuous improvement
