Requirements

  • At least 8 years engineering experience (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Materials, Chemical)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Material or Chemical engineering (or any suitable combination of education, experience or training)
  • Experience leading a team and creating, driving and communicating a strategy
  • Experience in Tooling, Tooling Design, and background in low volume high mix machining
  • Experience in Additive Manufacturing
  • Knowledge of Siemens NX and Teamcenter applications (a plus)
  • Knowledge of Thermoforming of Thermoplastic Polyurethanes, RF Welding, and Part Trimming
  • Proven ability to work with associates of all levels including people leaders, experts, engineers, technicians, and supervisors
  • Champion of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in the workplace
  • Expertise in at least one of Tooling, CAD to CAM, Lean Manufacturing, Machining, Additive Manufacturing, and/or Material Science Engineering
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Experience working in a machining, tooling and manufacturing setting
  • Experience improving efficiencies in processes and teams
  • Adaptable, solutions-oriented, inclusive, and respectful with a can-do mentality and hands-on approach to problem solving

Responsibilities

  • Lead and inspire a passionate Tooling Engineering team
  • Drive tooling design for machining and programming
  • Program CNC milling machines in the machine shop to fabricate production and prototype tooling, molds, die fixtures, and machined parts to support the manufacturing facility
  • Troubleshoot equipment, tooling, and manufacturing processes
  • Support innovation projects
  • Create and improve tooling operational excellence
  • Lead the delivery of predictive assessments of tooling designs
  • Evolve tooling methods and processes
  • Drive new design automation creation and implementation
  • Maximize the potential of the team through consistent mentoring, training, and opportunities for professional development
  • Drive clarity through task and project prioritization, creation or improvement of systems-based work, and address resource and operational challenges in alignment with the department strategy
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure tasks and projects are aligned and status is communicated
  • Drive improvements and solutions to the Product Lifecycle Management database
  • Create strategy, best practices for design, and adoption of digital design and simulation capabilities for tooling engineering
