Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end processes for applying, obtaining, and renewing all operational and construction-related licenses and permits for stores, distribution centers, and construction projects
  • Maintain a centralized tracking system to monitor permit status, submissions, approvals, renewals, and compliance metrics
  • Coordinate and lead all licensing and permitting activities, ensuring alignment with project timelines and business objectives
  • Liaise with government officials, municipalities, and regulatory agencies to facilitate approvals and resolve compliance issues
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (legal, format development, merchandising) to integrate permitting requirements and timelines into business and project plans
  • Identify risks related to permit timelines and compliance; develop and implement mitigation strategies
  • Conduct audits and compliance reviews; address exceptions and implement corrective actions
  • Monitor legislative changes, assess impacts, and recommend adaptation strategies to maintain compliance
  • Prepare reports, dashboards, and updates for senior leadership, including risk assessments and compliance status
  • Develop and implement policies, SOPs, and training programs for associates; lead and mentor team members to build a high-performing compliance function
